Brainsparks, in partnership with St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP), conducted an innovation workshop for college students last March 25, 2017 at SPUP, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

As an innovation and startup hub which develops and supports Philippine startup companies, Brainsparks aims to strengthen the local startup ecosystem through various programs which build the capability and inform local community stakeholders, especially the youth, of the opportunities in Entrepreneurship and Technopreneurship.

Among the speakers and facilitators were Lionel Belen and Artie Lopez of Brainsparks, Karla Legaspi of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and April Mae Ong Vaño of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

The workshop introduced the students to basic startup concepts and methods that can guide them to discover and solve high impact and high value problems. They were also given an orientation about the local startup scene.

Aside from Brainsparks and SPUP, the workshop was made possible with support from the and Diwa Learning Systems, Inc.

For the past three years, Brainsparks has been active in delivering workshops to hundreds of students, faculty, professionals, and founders through their own programs and through seminars and events organized by partners such as DTI, DOST, and DICT to name a few.
